Shrek 4-D™
“Shrek 4-D™,” based on the DreamWorks’ Academy Award-winning hit, is a four-dimensional eye-opener to the ”Greatest Fairy Tale Never Told.” Featuring ground-breaking “OgreVision” animation and sensory immersion, “Shrek 4-D” is Universal Studios’ state-of-the-art attraction that reunites the comic talents of Mike Myers, Eddie Murphy, Cameron Diaz and John Lithgow with the artistry of the animation team at PDI/DreamWorks who created the original blockbuster in an all-new animated saga that bridges the storyline between “Shrek” and “Shrek 2.”
Special Effects Stages
“Special Effects Stages” is an interactive attraction designed to introduce guests to the entertainment industry’s greatest movie making illusions by showcasing a series of cutting edge sleight-of-sight effects featured in such hits as “King Kong,” “Shrek,” “The Mummy,” and “Jurassic Park.
StarWay
The futuristic StarWay links the upper and lower portions of the Universal lots. With spectacular views, this multi-layered escalator and adjoining steps stretch over 1/4 mile to an area of the studio previously inaccessible to the public. “Revenge of The Mummy—The Ride,” “Jurassic Park—The Ride,” “Backdraft,” “Special Effects Stages’’ and “Lucy: A Tribute” are some of the attractions located on the lower lot.
Studio Tour - Behind-the-Scenes Tram Ride
Universal Studios Hollywood “Studio Tour” tram ride --enjoyed by over 125 million visitors worldwide--recently made a star turn with the addition of Oscar® and Emmy®-winning superstar Whoopi Goldberg, joining as a “virtual Studio Tour Guide.” Her lively video narration accompanies professional and extremely knowledgeable Studio Tour Guides as they banter with additional video narration by “Today” show star Al Roker, “Access Hollywood” hosts Nancy O’Dell and Billy Bush for a one-of-a-kind behind the scenes trek through an authentic movie and television industry studio lot.
Terminator 2: 3D™
“Terminator 2: 3D” combines thrilling live action stunts with the most sophisticated digital imaging technology ever created, projected on the world’s largest 3-D screen to achieve the visceral, immersive effect of a virtual adventure experience. Starring the original cast from “Terminator 2: Judgment Day,” Arnold Schwarzenegger, Linda Hamilton, Edward Furlong and Robert Patrick have reunited with triple Oscar-winning “Titanic” writer, director and producer James Cameron in the filming of the spectacular 3D film sequel.
The Fast and the Furious Extreme Close-up
A visually spectacular chase sequence inspired by the much anticipated "The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift" film is an exciting addition to the Studio Tour. Utilizing advanced robotics and state-of-the-art computer generated "previsualization" technology - a technique used to define and refine complicated chase sequences - the new tram experience will thrust guests into "in-your-face" close-up range of the pulse-pounding, rubber-burning underground world of drift street racing.
The Simpsons Ride™
The Simpsons™ are visiting Krustyland, the low-budget theme park created by famed TV personality and shameless product huckster Krusty the Clown! Guests are right there alongside Homer, Marge, Bart, Lisa and Maggie as they enter through the carnival-like midway.
Once they board the vehicle, they're in for one surprise after another as they embark on a wild, over-the-top ride through the park… flying, floating, and more or less crashing their way through Krustyland’s kiddie attractions, stunt shows, and thrill rides.
Universal’s Animal Actor
Taking their cue from Hollywood’s top animal trainers, the furry stars of Universal’s Animal Actor attraction give guests an entertaining behind-the-scenes peek at how some of the most lovable pets light up the big screen. A show for the entire family to enjoy, Universal’s Animal Actors feature cuddly animal stars from such hits as “Evan Almighty,” “Night at the Museum,” “Ace Ventura Pet Detective” and “Dr. Doolittle.”
Universal’s House of Horrors
Universal Studios Hollywood breaths life into Universal’s most notorious celluloid creatures with new spine-chilling walk-thru attraction: “Universal’s House of Horrors.” Featuring an award-winning line up of the Studio’s 80-year horror film legacy, the attraction reacquaints guests with such creatures as Count Dracula, The Wolf Man, The Mummy, Frankenstein’s Monster, The Bride of Frankenstein, the Phantom of the Opera and “Psycho’s” Mother Bates.
WaterWorld® - A Live Sea War Spectacular
Transformed into the eerie-futuristic, mist-shrouded netherworld, “WaterWorld—A Live Sea War Spectacular” represents the most complex combination of high-tech special effects, pyrotechnics, flame and human stunt work ever attempted anywhere in the world. The attraction puts studio guests in the middle of the exciting action that involves hundreds of stunts and fiery special effects.
